Upcoming events – end of November

On Tuesday 26th November at Hutton Rudby there will be the showing of a film, ’The Way’, followed by discussion. Please see their website for full details.

It’s beginning to look a bit like Christmas …

There will be a Christmas Fair at Chop Gate Village Hall, Thursday 28th November at 7 pm, with coffee, mince pies, stalls and tombola 

Stainton’s Angel Festival will take place from the 29th November – 1st December.   You can go and see the angels on Friday 29th November, 3.30-6.00, Saturday 30th November, 2.00-4.30 and Sunday 1st December 3.00-4.00.  On Sunday 1st December there will be a carol service at 4.00. 

Stokesley Parish Church will be holding their Christingle service this Sunday, 24th November, at 4.00 pm.

November 16th and 17th in the Deanery

A couple of events happening in our Deanery this weekend:

St Mary the Virgin, Nunthorpe Christmas Fair will be held at St. Mary’s Church Hall, TS7 0JU between 10 am and 12 noon on Saturday, 16th November. There will be stalls, prizes and refreshments.

Stokesley Parish Church are hosting a Concert with Bilsdale Band, at 2 pm on Sunday 17th November. Tickets cost £10 and are available from fionabowman57@gmail.com

Angels Among Us

Everyone from parishes within Stokesley Deanery is invited to Angels Among Us a Deanery Gathering with Bishop Barry. This will take place on Monday, 9th December at St. Francis of Assisi, Ingleby Barwick, 7.00 pm for a 7.30 start. There will be a service and a chance for all members of Stokesley Deanery parishes to meet the new Bishop of Whitby – please note this is for EVERYONE, not just Synod members. Please do come along, no need to book.

If you have a question that you would like to ask the Bishop, please submit it ahead of time (this allows time to be allocated appropriately to each question). Please send it to the Deanery Secretary, Liz Taylorson (stokeselydeanery@outlook.com) before 1.00 pm on Thursday 5th December.

All Souls’ and All Saints’ day services

This weekend sees All Souls’ day on Saturday 2nd November and All Saints’ Day on Sunday 3rd November. There will be several services to remember those that we have lost, as well as several celebratory services for All Saints’ Day.

An All Souls day service will take place on Saturday 2nd November at 7.00 pm at All Saints Church, Rudby.

Holy Cross, Swainby is holding an All Souls Requiem Eucharist at 7.00 pm on Saturday 2nd November.

Also on Saturday 2nd November, there will be an ‘In Memory’ service at Stokesley Parish Church, at 7.00 pm.

Sunday 3rd November, sees a ‘Remembering Together’ service at St. Mary’s, Nunthorpe at 5.30 pm.

All Saints, Rudby will be celebrating their Patronal Festival at 9.30 am on Sunday, 3rd November.
