Stokesley’s Christmas Tree Festival also continues throughout the festive period, until Twelfth Night.

Third weekend of Advent

Lots of things are happening around the Deanery this weekend, the third of Advent.

The Christmas Tree festival continues in Stokesley Parish Church throughout December so why not call in to see the trees? And next Thursday (18th December) – Tuesday 23rd December Yarm Parish Church is also hosting a Christmas Tree festival.

There are a couple of Christingle services taking place this weekend too – Sunday December 14th 5pm at Chop Gate Village Hall Christingle for St Hilda’s Church with Bilsdale Silver Band and Sunday 14th December at 4pm at St. Mary Magdalene, Yarm, in aid of the Children’s Society.

This weekend and into next week is the peak season for Carol Services!

If you are finding Christmas hard this year, and aren’t in the mood for joyful carolling, then time for quiet and reflection is provided on Thursday, 18th December, 7:00 pm at Stokesley Parish Church, where they will be holding a ‘Blue Christmas’ service, to which all are welcome.

Second Sunday of Advent

As we move through the season of Advent, there are plenty of events and services taking place throughout Stokesley Deanery this weekend, and through next week.

Saturday 6th December – Twelfth Night Christmas Tree Festival at Stokesley Parish Church.  The festival will launch with Coffee and Cake on Saturday 6th December, 9:30 am – 2:00 pm. All welcome! 

Saturday, 6th December, 7:30 pm, a Christmas concert by the Angrove Singers’ will be held in Christ Church, Great Ayton. 

Saturday, 6th December, 7.00 pm Christmas Concert with the Ingleby Barwick Community Choir and Aycliffe and Brancepeth Brass Band at St. Francis, Ingleby Barwick.  Free entry but ticket required.

Sunday 7th December 4.00 St. Mary’s Nunthorpe will be holding their Christingle service.

Also on Sunday 7th December at St. Mary’s Church HALL Nunthorpe, there will be a service of remembrance for those who have lost a baby or child. The service begins at 3.00 and there will be refreshments afterwards.

Towards the end of next week there will be a couple of carol services taking place, at Ingleby Greenhow and Hilton:

If you’re struggling this Christmas

For many people, Christmas can be a difficult time. There are services taking place at several of our churches for those who might find the season difficult for a variety of reasons. You will be made welcome at any of them, whether you live in the parish or not.

Service of Remembrance for those who have lost a baby or child: Sunday 7th December at St. Mary’s HALL, Nunthorpe, 3 pm – 5 pm with refreshments after the service.  

Blue Christmas Service: Thursday 18th December 7:00 pm – a time of quiet and reflection at Stokesley Parish Church.
