Early August events

As we head into August, there are a few upcoming events in Stokesley Deanery to tell you about!

This Sunday (Sunday, 3rd August) sees Taize Style Evening Prayer at 6:00 pm in All Saints’ Church Great Ayton.

Next week sees Cleveland Archdeaconry Mother’s Union Mary Sumner Celebration Event. August 8th at St Francis, Ingleby Barwick. A 2pm service followed by shared tea.

Also next weekend, a Flower festival will take place at St. Cuthbert’s Kildale, Friday 8^th – Sunday 10^th August. Opens Friday evening, church open 10 am – 4 pm Saturday and ends with a ‘Songs of Praise’ on Sunday August 10^th at 3 pm. All welcome. Flowers arranged by local community and church groups.

Return of the Area Dean

We’re glad to welcome back our Area Dean, Revd. Tessa Stephens, who has recently been on sabbatical for three months. Her place has been superbly filled by Revd. Darren Moore in her absence.

Kirklevington’s new organ

Kirklevington Parish Church has a new organ, which will be inaugurated on Friday, 25th July at 7 pm. Harry Brown will give a recital, including works by Bach, Widor and Whitlock. Pimms and strawberries will also be served! The event is free, but a retiring collection will be taken.

There are several events happening throughout the Deanery this weekend:

A Life Transformed by Jesus – Men’s Breakfast with Gram Seed, Saturday 12^th July, 9.30, St. Margaret’s Church, Brookfield. This is a free event but cash donations are welcome at the event for Sowing Seeds Ministries. Tickets from vanessakirby@gmail.com

Benjamin Baker – Exploration: inspired by the spirit of James Cook. Saturday, 12^th July at 7 pm, All Saints’ Church Great Ayton. A violin concert (no interval) with music by Bach, Perkinson, Winkelman, Margetic and Farr. Ticket price £12.50 (in aid of All Saints funds). Earth Church service at St. Francis, Ingelby Barwick, Sunday 13^th July at 4.30. Everyone is welcome – buffet tea, fun activities for all ages and a short worship service.

St. Margaret’s Brookfield is 65! Celebrations will take place on Sunday 6^th July with a family fun day (2-4 pm) and a celebration Songs of Praise in the evening (5 pm)

Churchwardens’ Admission Service: 7.00 pm at St. Margaret’s, Brookfield on Wednesday, July 9^th. Be there, or be … admitted at an alternative service in another Deanery.
