Events taking place this weekend include some open gardens, two summer fairs and an art exhibition – all of which involve cake!

Open gardens – Hilton Parish is holding an open gardens event on Saturday 7th June with several gardens open to the public and refreshments available. 

Summer Fayre: Saturday, 7th June, 10 am – 12 noon. Come along to St. Mary’s Church Hall, Nunthorpe for a traditional summer fair with stalls, prizes and refreshments. All welcome. 

Summer Fair: Saturday 7th June, 12 noon – 3 pm, at St. Francis, Ingleby Barwick. Plants, cakes, children’s activities in aid of St. Francis’ church. 

Art Exhibition: May 30th – 28th June at Yarm Parish Church. Free entry, the exhibition will be open to the public on Thursdays Fridays and saturday between 9.30 am-12.30pm. The Cafe will also be open

I’m sorry, I don’t have time to list all the services for Pentecost which are taking place throughout the Deanery – please check individual parish websites for details of Pentecost services close to you. You will be welcome at any of our services!

This weekend in the Deanery

It’s a bank holiday weekend this weekend (24th-16th May), so when you’re looking for somewhere to hide from the inevitable bank holiday weather, why not head out to Chop Gate for Rogation Sunday service and cream teas?

Cream Teas (with other stalls) at Chop Gate Village Hall, Sunday 25th May, 1pm – 5pm. All proceeds to St. Hilda’s Church. 

Rogation Sunday Service at St. Hilda’s Chop Gate, Sunday May 25th at 10 am. Please bring a packet of seeds for your favourite flower or vegetable if you’re a gardener. If weather permits the start of the service will be outside. Refreshments will follow, all welcome.

Healing & Wholeness Service at St Francis, Ingleby Barwick. Sunday May 18th 6pm. Contemplative prayer.

Taize-style Evening Prayer at Great Ayton

On the first Sunday in the month, All Saints Great Ayton will be offering a Taize-style Evening Prayer at 6pm. (Sundays June 1st, July 6th, August 3rd and September 7th)

Taize-style worhips is inclusive and contemplative. It incorporates silence, sund and spoken prayer, readings from the Bible and time to reflect.

Now open: The prayer labyrinth at St. Francis, Ingelby Barwick is now open and available to all, in the grounds of St. Francis’ church. Everyone welcome! 

Next Synod –Tuesday, 3rd June, 7.00 pm for 7.30 at St. Mary Magdalene, Yarm.  

Churchwardens’ Admission Service: 7.00 pm at St. Margaret’s, Brookfield on Wednesday, July 9th

St. Margaret’s Brookfield is 65! Celebrations will take place on Sunday 6th July, with more details to follow.
