June is a busy month in Stokesley Deanery, with a number of summery events taking place.
Thursday 4th June Corpus Christi service, Benefice Communion at Faceby Church, 10 am
Fridays throughout June: Cast your cares – a quiet space for GCSE and A-Level students. On Fridays throughout June Yarm Church will be open for quiet time for exam pupils, 4 – 6 pm
Friday June 5th – Sunday June 7th and weekends following: St. Oswald’s Church, Newton under Roseberry is now part of the Pilgrim Places Network. As a consequence St. Oswald’s will now be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning the weekend of Friday June 5th.
To launch the openings and to mark World Environmental Week there will be Morning Prayers at 10am led by Rev Sarah Cliff, followed by refreshments. All are welcome. Refreshments will be available during the day as well on June 5th. If you have never visited St. Oswald’s now is your chance to come and learn more about the church and its grounds.
Saturday, 6th June – why not spend all day drinking tea/coffee and eating cake? You could start off at 9.30 am at Stokesley Church with Coffee and Cakes in the church. Then at 10 am you can pop over to St. Mary’s Church Hall, Nunthorpe for their Summer Fayre, 10 am – 12 noon, and then follow this with Ingleby Barwick St. Francis’ Summer Fair between 12 noon -3 pm.
Sunday, 7th June – Taize style evening prayer at Christ Church, Great Ayton, 6.00 pm – 40 minutes of peace and tranquility. You’ll probably need it after all that coffee and cake yesterday …
Saturday 13th June – St. Cuthbert’s Church, Kildale is holding a Pilgrim Pop-up Café 10 am – 2 pm
Sunday 14th June – St. Mary’s, Nunthorpe at 2.00 pm – ‘Three of the Best’ opera concert.
Saturday, 20th June – Hilton open gardens takes place between 2-5 pm. Tickets cost £10 and are available from the church.
Sunday 20th June Stokesley Parish Church are hosting a concert by Saltburn Big Band at 7 pm.
Friday, 26th June sees a Coffee morning in Stokesley Town Hall in aid of St. Cuthbert’s, Kildale.
Sunday 28th June is the Ordination to the Priesthood of Revd. Donneta Thomas by Bishop Barry. 4.00 pm in Swainby Church, and this is followed by her first communion on Monday, 29th June at Hutton Rudby at 7.00 pm
