You may considering sitting in the shade and drinking cold lemonade this weekend, but it’s worth remembering that many churches are beautiful, old COOL stone buildings!
In Whorlton Benefice there is an important event this weekend. Sunday 28th June sees the Ordination to the Priesthood of Revd. Donneta Thomas by Bishop Barry. The service takes place in Swainby Church at 4 pm and everyone is welcome. Revd. Thomas will then be celebrating her first communion on Monday, 29th June at 7 pm at Rudby Church.

At Stainton, the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul are celebrating their Patronal Festival with a special communion service at 11 am on Sunday, 28th June. This will be followed by an organ recital by Bishop Paul Ferguson at 6 pm in church. Everyone is welcome.
