May events in the Deanery

As we turn the calendar into May and welcome the spring sunshine, thoughts in the Deanery turn towards the coming of longer days and time outdoors. And lots of opportunities to drink coffee, apparently! Here are a selection of events taking place throughout Stokesley Deanery, you would be welcome at any of them:

Friday, May 1st – Yarm Church, 9.30-12.30. Café Charity day in aid of Child Brain Injury Fund 

Saturday, May 2nd – Stokesley Parish Church, 9.30 am, Coffee and Cakes 

Saturday May 2nd – St. Mary’s Church Hall, Nunthorpe, Mothers’ Union Coffee Morning, 10 am.

Saturday, May 2nd – BiGKIDS coffee morning, 10 am at St. Barnabas’ Church Hall.

Saturday May 9th  – Chop Gate – Owl evening talk, 6.30 for 7 pm at Chop Gate Village Hall.

Saturday, May 9th – Kildale, St. Cuthbert’s Church, Pilgrim Pop-up Café 10 am – 2 pm 

Sunday, May 10th – Rogation Sunday service at St. Hilda’s, Chop Gate at 10 am.

Thursday, 14th May, Ascension Day Many local churches will be holding services, so please check the website/Facebook page of your local church. Some of the services in Stokesley Deanery include: Kikrby in Cleveland, St. Augustine – 10 am service. Newton-under-Roseberry, St. Oswald – 8 am service followed by breakfast. Please let the parish know you are coming. Carlton-in-Cleveland, 10 am Communion service. Nunthorpe, 7 pm Communion Service.

Friday, 15th May – Ingleby Greenhow, Christian Aid Coffee Afternoon, 2 pm at Ingleby Greenhow Primary School. 

Friday, May 15th – Stokesley Church 7 pm. Concert with the Apollo Male Voice Choir. 

Saturday 16th May – Yarm Church – 9.30 am, Big Breakfast in aid of Christian Aid. 

Sunday, 17th May – Nunthorpe, St. Mary’s –  2 pm Centenary Chorus – vocal concert to celebrate 100 years of St. Mary’s.
