October is here, and so is the season for Harvest Festivals and fundraisers. Here are a few of the events taking place in Stokesley Deanery in the next couple of weeks:
This Sunday (4th October) sees Harvest Festivals taking place at:

- St. Margaret’s, Brookfield, 9.30 for Communion and 4.00 pm for Family Church.
- Great Ayton (Christ Church) at 9.15
- St. Oswald’s, Newton-under-Roseberry at 11.00 am
- St. Martin and St. Hilary’s, Kirklevington at 10:00 am
- St. Peter and St Paul, Stokesley, 9.30 am


On Sunday, 11th October you’ll find Harvest Festivals at these churches:
- St. Andrew’s, Ingleby Greenhow, 9.30 am
- St. Mary’s, Nunthorpe, 10 am
And on Sunday 18th October there will be a Harvest Service in the Whorlton Benefice, 9.30 am at St. Botolph’s, Carlton.
There are also some celebrations of our furry (and feathered and scaly) friends taking place.

- On Saturday, 3rd October ‘Paws to Praise’ pet service takes place at St. Francis, Ingleby Barwick.
- On Sunday, 4th October at 9.30 am there will be a Pet Service at Nunthorpe, at St. Mary’s Church Hall.


Other events in early October:
- At Stokesley, 9.30 – 11 am on Saturday 3rd October there will be a children’s harvest craft session – and a chance to take part in the Teddy zip line – see your Teddy fly from the tower!
- There will be an Art Exhibition at St. Francis of Assisi, Ingleby Barwick, celebrating the 800th anniversary of St. Francis. Saturday and Sunday 3rd and 4th October, 12-4 pm in the church.

On Saturday, 10th October Kirklevington Church are holding a coffee morning in the village hall, 10 am – 12 noon. Everyone is welcome for treats, cakes and coffee (other drinks are available!)
On the same morning, 10th October, Yarm Church are holding their Autumn Fair, in the church 10 am – 1 pm. All the fun of the Autumn Fair, and Cafe Magdalene is open for coffee.


Also on Saturday 10th October, you can see Hebble, a folk trio, perform at Kildale Church, 7.30 pm, with tickets (£20) available in advance on Ticketsource.
Looking slightly further ahead, to Friday, 16th October, there will be a free concert in Stokesley Parish Church at 7 pm, with Northallerton Woodwind Ensemble.
