The summer holidays are in full swing, and it’s quieter than usual in our parishes. However, at Great Ayton and Newton under Roseberry they’re very busy!
It’s St. Oswald’s Day on 5th August, which means that St. Oswald’s Church, Newton under Roseberry will be having their patronal festival celebrations this weekend. A special service on Sunday 2nd August at 11 am will be followed by a pooled lunch picnic.
At All Saints (the old church), Great Ayton at 6 pm on Sunday 2nd August there will be a Taize style evening prayer service – 40 minutes of peace and tranquility.
‘Gravetalk’ – also in Great Ayton, but at Christ Church (the new church) on Friday 7th August at 2 pm there will be a chance to have open conversations about death and funerals. Lots of people have questions or are afraid to ask about this subject; so come for cake and tea and people to chat to. If you want to know more, contact the Revd. Sarah Cliff on 07355 711010 (or e-mail sarah@christchurchgreatayton.onmicrosoft.com)
